After we left #10 we felt like we had some more paddling in us, so we went over to Nelson Pond. They actually connect, but we don't think that you can get through, especially this time of year. Nelson is a bit bigger and there are more cabins on it. There are actually some really nice houses. There were alot of speedboats and waterskiers, some fisherman and lots of people sunbathing on their docks. It was a bit windy and at times, a little choppier but besides working a bit harder, it was a nice place to paddle. Not a great place to go if the wind is really howling.
When we put in, we immediately saw two loons. Later, we would see one catch a fish. We also saw a family of ducks AND 4 king fishers chasing each other in the air.
This was a nice place to boat. It would be a nice place in the fall on a weekday when it was a little quieter.
